2. Knowledge

3. Negotiating skills

A key aspect of being a good Realtor® is a little skill called negotiating. If you have ever felt the slightest bit uneasy haggling with a street vendor for example, multiply that by 1000 and you will have some idea of what it takes to negotiate a home sale. Be it the price, specific conditions, closing dates, fixtures and so on, they are committed to helping you; they handle those awkward negotiations with ease and they know what to ask for.

4. Protection

Last, but not least, working with a licensed Realtor® will protect you and your purchase. Their code of ethics stipulates how they work and interact with you and others involved in a home sale or purchase, and they are obliged to act with integrity and honesty. Further, they understand local by-laws, your rights and responsibilities, as well as the sometimes tricky ‘legal language’ of a purchase agreement.
